Powell Office Furniture recognises that it has obligations to ensure the health and safety of all its employees, its subcontractors, its customers, members of the public and all who come into contact with the company.

These obligations are set out in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and particularly The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, and all associated legislation.

Powell Office Furniture has implemented a formal health & safety management system which sets out arrangements and procedures which ensure compliance with these obligations, and which also satisfies the requirements of OHSAS 18001:2007 including the commitment to the prevention of injury and ill health, and continual improvement and the setting of OH&S objectives.

This Policy applies to all employees, who are required to work in a safe manner so that they do not endanger themselves, their colleagues or any other person, and do not put plant, equipment or work at risk.

This Policy has been communicated to all employees so that they are aware of their individual responsibilities. Appropriate training is provided by the company. Arrangements are also made for employees and management to consult on health and safety issues.

Health and safety performance and this Policy are reviewed regularly, and measures are implemented to achieve improvements in performance.
The Policy is available to interested parties on request.
